WORK STARTS ON NEW STADIUM

Tottenham have started work on the new stadium that is set to be completed by 2015. Tottenham Hotspur have decided to move to a new stadium in order to increase their revenue, and they have started work on the £ 430 million extravagant building.

The stadium construction began a few weeks ago, while the other elements of the stadium like the supermarket and offices will be beginning shortly. The club recently announced that they have appointed McLaren construction as the main instructor of this new stadium. The first stage of the development will be handled by this company before the tenders for both the public space and the stadium go live next year.

HARINGEY BACK STADIUM PLANS

Tottenham’s new stadium will be the source of regeneration within the area according to many. The new 55,000 seater stadium will promote homeownership in this region according to the latest statement given by the Haringey Council, reported on by the Tottenham news website.

The council decided to give the green light to the stadium back in February, but it is thought that the council had dropped the requirement of a homeownership region in order to approve it. However, the council has now confirmed that the new stadium that is expected to be built at a total cost of £ 400 million will generate homeownership.

CHELSEA FUNDING STADIUM BID

Chelsea have revealed that owner Roman Abramovich will not be putting any money for the development of a new stadium at the proposed Battersea Power Station.

Chelsea recently revealed that they had submitted a bid for the iconic building, which will then be converted into a stadium that can seat up to 60,000 people. It will put Chelsea amongst the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United when it comes to the ground capacity.

BRAZIL AIM FOR BEST EVER

The Brazilian football Federation has said that it intends to make the 2014 FIFA World Cup one of the best ever.

The 2014 FIFA World Cup will be held in Brazil, but unlike the host nations of the other World Cups, Brazil were chosen unanimously by the countries making up the South American continent.

As a result, there has been a view that Brazil are not taking the opportunity to host the FIFA World Cup seriously. It was this view that the FIFA general secretary rasied recently, questioning the Brazilian government and its ability to host a tournament of this magnitude.

SPURS MOVE ONE STEP CLOSER

Tottenham Hotspur have more step closer towards completing the final attributes of their proposed new stadium, which will have the ability to seat up to 56,000 people.

This is expected to be the major attributes that will make Tottenham Hotspur join in the league of the top four. It has been pretty clear from the revenues of both Manchester United and Arsenal that having a large stadium and the ability to fill it will definitely make a huge difference in the balance sheet at the end of the year.

QPR WANT NEW STADIUM

QPR have come a long way since the takeover of the Formula One giants Bernie Ecclestone and Flavio Briatore. The promotion and the subsequent takeover by the Malaysian billionaire Tony Fernandes is also to present at the club with a new and bright future. The club’s owner Tony Fernandes recently revealed that the club is considering moving away from the Loftus Road, which is one of the smallest grounds in the Premier League.

Loftus Road has a capacity of just 18,000 and thus it makes it unviable for the club to be playing at this ground if it wants to generate more income.

JENKINS HAS FAITH IN SWANSEA

Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins has said that they can compete in the Premier league along with the big boys. And Jenkins believes Brendan Rodgers’ side can compete with the big clubs next season.

“Everybody would be foolish to write us off just for those type of games,” said Jenkins.

“We’ve proved in the Championship, [against] so called bigger clubs heavily spending way over our budget, we competed and competed very well [and] played the best football in the Championship.
