Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has claimed that he is already excited by the prospect of playing at the new stadium being developed by Spurs for a cost of more than £ 500 million.
Not very long ago, the club revealed that they would be building a new 50,000 seater stadium in the heart of North London.
However, there appears to have been slight modifications to the plan and the stadium capacity has now been taken to just over 60,000. This would make Tottenham’s new ground as the biggest in London and going even beyond the Emirates stadium, which can hold 60,000.
Much of the stadium building costs will be subsidised by the sale of the existing White Hart Lane area, sponsorship, and through the ground sharing agreement signed with NFL. The new stadium will be used by NFL clubs for two games every year. This agreement goes forward for the next 10 years. Unlike the White Hart Lane, the new ground is expected to carry a sponsorship name, with many names being touted, and a special market being opened if you use a code on Bet365, and odds of upto 100/1 for some potentail sponsors. Aside from being able to hold such a vast amount of people, this new stadium is also expected to come with a whole range of facilities and infrastructure that will take the club to the next level according to Pochettino.
“The new stadium designs and facilities look incredible – this really demonstrates the ambition of this football club.We have always enjoyed strong backing from our fans at home and it is great that the stadium atmosphere is central to the new designs too.Everybody should be excited about what the club is looking to achieve, this stadium will be one of the best around,” said Pochettino. “We are all excited to be taking the project to the next stage. Our commitment is to find the best solution for the club, our supporters and our community,” said chairman Daniel Levy.
